Twinkling Tuesday: Butterfly ATC

I'm back!! The haircut went really well! Thanks for the tip Heather. I did that. I also bribed him with a new Car if he sat still and didn't scream. He did say "ow!" a lot when she was wetting his hair. And for my family that reads my blog, here's an after photo:

This week's Twinkling Tuesday sketch really makes you think. I can't wait to go visit the rest of the team and see how they interpreted it. You should give it a go too - I'd love to see what you come up with!!

HunH!?! I know - I tell ya, these kiddos are soooo talented!! Tonight is my local stamp club. I suggested a theme of butterflies and am happy that it is this month. Thought I would try this sketch out in a small ATC size. I have to warn you - it is BRIGHT!!! Lots of pattern and color, not my usual style.

A close up of my Bright, Beautiful Butterflies:

That's it for me today! Come back tomorrow - it's Wednesday so lots going on around here!! I can't wait to show off my Cuttlebug Challenge card!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Twinklettes this week! Their links are over in my sidebar!! As always, have a beautiful day!!

{hi} friends!

Hi again! Are you having a great day? When this posts, I'll be in the car, hopefully with a calm little man. The last time he got in my BIL's car he screamed bloody murder. If you pray, please pray for a calm little man on Wednesday.
Today is a special Wednesday for me because it's my first post as a member of Danni's Flutter By Wednesdays. Danni loves butterflies and she loves making cards so every Wednesday she creates cards with butterflies. I've been getting to know her over the past few months and she is a dear friend. The computer seems to shrink miles and there are times when I forget that I can't just "get together" with all my stamping friends. Hopefully though Danni and I will be able to visit face-to-face someday soon! She emailed me last week and asked me to join her team. I was sooo honored and am thrilled to get to work with this bunch of girls! {hi girls! - i've been super busy but i promise i'll be back in a week and it'll be more normal and i'll be around visiting and getting to know ya'll better}. I did tell Danni that I don't have a ton of butterfly stamps/punches so if she was okay seeing the same ones over and over, I would be thrilled to join!

I made this card right after I made my Anya card posted yesterday. I spent forever on that card and my brain needed something quick and easy. Even though this came together in no time at all, I still l.o.v.e. it!! I embossed the base of my card with Swiss Dots (anybody surprised?). The butterfly is actually this stamp:

Yep - a leaf! I just inked it carefully so as not to catch the stem. His path is pierced and it totally becomes believable. Be sure to stop by the rest of the girl's blogs and leave them some love! I can't wait to see what they've come up with this week!
Thanks for stopping by today! Since I won't be stamping any the rest of the week (and won't have housework either), I should have some time to visit all of you. Can't wait to see what everyone has been up to! Have a beautiful day! Oh - and if you haven't seen the Mom tip for today - oh my goodness. SUCH a good one!

A Twinkle for You!

Happy Tuesday girls! I hope you are warm wherever you are. Winter arrived yesterday here with a vengeance! A little bit of snow, which quickly froze into slick ice. Still bitterly cold today too. I'm so happy that the little man and I are able to hang out here at home!
It's Tuesday and time for another of Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketches. She's only 8 but already so talented. Every week she gives us a sketch and this week was a doozy! I've had it for days, but blocked it out of my mind as I was totally flummoxed by the 3 main panels.
When I finally sat down at my stamp desk this morning, I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I considered a baby card since they are my favorite to make. Then I remembered that I had picked up a piece of Basic Grey paper a few weeks ago to use sometime on a Twinkling Sketch. So I pulled that out. It's not exactly what I envisioned, but you know, I've decided that I really like it. Hopefully the little bling ties each of the elements together!! Hopefully Madelynn forgives my "liberties" that I took with her sketch. My card today is an odd size: 2 3/4 x 8 1/2. I had a piece of So Saffron left over from last weeks card still on my desk. Using it up sounded like a good thing to do!

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Twinklettes this week. I've already made the rounds this morning and they are STUNNING!! You won't find a nicer bunch of girls around in blogland!! And they are super talented to boot! We also have 2 new Twinklettes this week: Jacquie and Kim! Welcome girls!!
We'd love for you to play along too! Use the keyword MTTSC7 when you upload at PCP or SCS so we can view your creation! Feel free to come join our group over on PCP too - we're a chatty bunch and would love to have you join us!!
Thanks for coming by today! I love it when you come to visit. Your sweet comments are a bright spot in my day!! I can't wait for you to see my Cuttlebug Challenge card tomorrow - I so totally love how it turned out!! I'll also have my Pink Papery Studios card too.
Have a beautiful day!!

Valentine Butterflies

Hey girls! It's Wednesday and time for another Be Inspired challenge. #15 this week was to use a sketch provided by our very special GUEST. Make sure you stop by the Cuttlebug Challenge blog to see who it is find out the prize (well, I'll tell you the prize - PAGEMAPS by Becky Fleck) isn't that awesome? I've also gotten to see sneak peaks of the rest of the teams cards and they are SMOKIN' HOT!!

I really struggled with this sketch - I should've asked Janna for some sketch vibes to help me out. It wasn't until I just HAD TO GET IT DONE that it finally came together. I punched out several circles in variety of papers and then ran them through some of my favorite folders. The butterflys are from the die cut/embossing duo set. I am in total love with them!! I used them as my three focal points and then added some flowers, buttons and pearls.

This sketch is so outside of my comfort zone. It's very edgy, graphic and trendy. I wanted to put a little sweet, soft touch on it and I hope I achieved that! Thanks for stopping by today! I'll have another post later today so don't forget to check back this afternoon! And then tomorrow I have an award to post. I'm so honored to have received it that I didn't want to bury it in my dt work...I wanted it to have a post of its very own!
