Trendy Cupcake

Hey girls! It's Wednesday and time for another Pink Papery Studios Challenge. Our challenge this week comes from Shelly and is the “Mix It Up!” challenge. She wants us to use up the scraps that we all have! We were to create a card using at least 2 OR MORE decorative paper scraps!

Now, I'm not a long-term scrap saver. I may save it for a week or so, and if I use it then great, but if I don't use it then it'll go in the trash. I knew this challenge was coming up so started making a conscious effort to save scraps. Even then, I barely had any in the pile. Some scraps from the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding pack and a little bit of some paper that said Merry Christmas. I decided to use the BG and see if I could make it look like a birthday card. I am a girly-girl but have many friends that are not into the frilly like I tend to be. I think of them as hip and trendy and think this card would be perfect for one of them! The sketch is from Challenge 209 over at SCS and with some tweaking I think I'll use it again.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! It's nice to have you visit. Be sure to visit all the rest of the team (links over there to the right) and see their creations - some gorgeous stuff!! Also be sure to stop by the blog all this month. Amy, the owner of Pink Papery Studios celebrated her birthday yesterday and has a month long party planned. Can't wait to see all the fun stuff!!

Have a beautiful day!!

Hey Cassie - Happy New Year's Eve :)

I LOVE this card. You did a great job with the paper piercing.

As for scraps - just get a bin from the dollar store and start throwing them in there. You'll be amazed how much you'll start using them if they're around - and they save you money on P.P. too!

Oh, I LOVE it Cassie!! You did a fabulous job!! What a fun layout for this card and the colors are really great.

Um, you throw your scraps AWAY?!??!?! I am having a panic attack, LOL. I'm the WORST sort of packrat, I couldn't imagine. Ok, from now on, send them to me. ;)

Happy New Year to you my new stampin' friend! Looking forward to all your creations of 2009!

Hi Cassie,
I saw this first on SCS and just had to pop in and let you know how much I liked it! The image is darling and I just love the mix of papers and the dotted button on the flower. Fabulous!
Btw, I don't save my scraps either. I have a handful of odds and ends that didn't make it to card status, but they are mostly forgotten!
