Organization

Several years ago I hired a professional organizer to help me organize my office so my lia sophia business would run smoother. She was expensive but worth EVERY PENNY! When I hired her, I thought that being organized meant that things had a "BeautifuL" place and it looked like those magazine photos (or some craft rooms I drool over) and was perfectly neat. What I learned is that being organized has nothing to do with how it "looks"; it's all about being able to FIND STUFF! I also learned a lot about myself and how I work - I won't bore you with those details but one of the best tips I can share is that the things you use the most should be within easy reach - like you don't have to move very far to get it. This works GREAT in my office. Not so much at my stamp table as there is SO MUCH that I use often there's no way to have it all close! One of my to do's this week is to re-work my desk. I currently have lots of stamps right in front of me and want to switch those out for some other things. This is my desk; where the magic happens (I've always wanted to say that. Wouldn't that be a great show: Cribs: Stamper Stars). It may be messy, but since I know where things are, it's organized!!
I have great collections of lots of things (can you pick them out in the photo?). One of them happens to be stuff for my Cuttlebug. They are currently in a drawer but it's now full so I need a new solution. If you are looking for ideas on organizing all your accessories for your die cut machine, be sure to stop by the Cuttlebug Challenge today. There's an article up with lots of photo and ideas for inspiration (I'm also making a reference tag this week as I bought a duplicate folder last week - TWICE!! The one I exchanged for the duplicate also turned out to be a duplicate!)

Don't forget to leave a comment on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog sharing your system for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to Crop Stop.

Besides my cuttlebug folders, tell me what one of my "collections" is; I'll draw one randomly and send you that duplicate embossing folder. Let's see, I'll draw on Thursday night!

Cassie, I have to show my husband this space.....he keeps insisting that I have a lot of stuff.....if he only knew! I wanna come live with you because if you all saw my space and what I own (or rather don't own), you'd all take pity on me! I'm going to have to take a picture of my space just to prove it. :D I see that you collect storage units! ;)

I see a pretty niffty collection of colored cardstock. I am waiting for my cuttlebug. I am pretty sure your duplicate folder will be one of kind in my not quite as organized craft room. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.

Greetings!!
HHMM.. organization, a somewhat difficult thing to accomplish, as we all know, and as we all are forever trying to work on. Having just moved, my goal was to have my scraproom very organized, and beautiful. Well, I'm still working on the first one, and don't look for the second one to happen. I have lots and lots of the Iris cart 3 drawer and 5 drawer units, which are all stacked to the ceiling all around on two walls of my room, and am still struggling to get it all where I can find it. I'm getting there... using the same units makes it look better instead of lots of different things, and now I'm using the same labels to identify things. It is shapping up, I think.
Take care, ya all!!

Hmmm ... all I recognize are the Stampin Up stamp sets, but I'm sure there's more that I'm just not familiar with. :)

I love your craft space!

That is a great area you shared.
One of the things I notice is a collection of Stampin Up ink pads.
I would love more storage but the budget is not there for all of those wonderful containers for storage that you are able to use.I'm trying to collect a bit a a time...

Aside from the Stampin up stamp set collection, there is the ribbon collection, the pencil collection, the pen collection, the paper collection, the USPS containing boxes containing more stuff for the collections! :-)

You collect photo storage boxes too! Great! That's what I use for ribbons for the time being (except mine are Christmas themed - can you say 80% off at Hobby Lobby!) That's the most of a system I have for now as I'm rather new at this and don't have much so far!
